Clinton Street Baking Co. & Restaurant: NYC’s Most Famous Blueberry Pancakes

I have the longest patience when it comes to food. I am willing to wait a couple of hours just to see what all the fuss is about. And my blog has been quite well known because of my philosophy. I detest bloggers getting first dibs on a restaurant because of an invite, and that doesn’t even out the race.

Perhaps, the longest wait I’ve had here in NYC so far is at Clinton Street Baking Co. Here lies the BEST pancakes the NYC ever has, so they say. So I’m willing to wait 2 and 1/2 hours just to check if all the reviews are just true.

When it comes to pancakes, I seriously the cakey ones that make your mouth full of flour when you eat them. That’s the case with IHOP. I’ve never had flapjacks that so far passed my standards, and for that reason, I am #TeamWaffle. I hate ordering pancakes in restaurants because I make better ones at home.

And so at Clinton Street Baking Co., whose name might have become so popular due to elections, I went for the Southern breakfast. Nothing special here, except the cheese grits which were just curiously creamy in texture.

Their honey bacon lost to my favorite Sweet Maple in San Francisco, whose Millionaire Bacon deserves a million praises. No one ever does it better than Sweet Maple.

Moment of truth: The Blueberry Pancakes.

Oh. My. Lord. Without a doubt, these are the BEST pancakes I ever had. The hype is real. I can’t express how good they are in crafting this masterpiece. It was neither cakey nor stiff. It was chewy yet doesn’t taste fake.

Skip all the breakfast and brunch. Just come to Clinton Street Baking Co. around 3pm and get the blueberry pancakes. Skip all of the items on the menu, they have nothing unique to offer.

And that’s my honest blogger opinion.
