When I was in Singapore, I was craving for steak. What a huge dilemma. How could I be craving for steak and I wasn’t in New York?! New York’s American Cut Steakhouse in Tribeca left such a great impression on me that perhaps it was the only reason why I was craving for meat. But I didn’t want all the fancy things when eating steak. I just want to eat meat.

If you happen to have time and in the mood for a piece of steak without all the bells and whistles, I’d recommend Ma Maison Restaurant. Ma Maison hails from Nagoya and has been around for 37 years already. They’ve got everything from Escargots, to Mentaiko Carbonara to Hamburger Steak, Tonkatsu (from their Tonkatsu by Ma Maison), and you guessed it, steak. So have a try in everything and you’ll know that the only thing to order at Ma Maison is steak.

Australian Sirloin Steak 250g – SGD 26.80 ++

Just skip everything and order this steak. It’s the best no-frills steak you can eat. And also, if you happen to be here for lunch, you can get a nice set with salad, soup, iced tea and ice cream for less than 40 bucks. It’s a great deal.
