Mighty Bowl, Greenwich Village, NYC
Sometimes I do crave a good rice bowl. And the Mighty Bowl fits the bill perfectly. Situated in this narrow Macdougal street in Greenwich Village, the Mighty Bowl attracts a steady stream of students and loyal patrons, whose bowls are named after great cities. Penang Bowl gets a kick from peanut butter curry sauce, while the Shanghai bowl is extremely oriental, topped with Chinese broccoli and oyster mushrooms.
I am torn between the California Bowl and Tokyo Bowl, the latter seems slightly tangy and sweet in taste with its Teriyaki sauce, and I’m definitely not in the mood for it. On the other hand, the California Bowl lacks some meat, and emphasizes more on avocadoes. While that’s so tempting, I need something more substantial.
I am then left with the Manila bowl, classic Adobo chicken and Adobo sauce with poached egg. I’ve been in NYC for a while and nothing feels better than this home in a bowl.
Glad there’s something beyond Rice to Riches.
