We were supposed to have afternoon tea at Covent Garden, but all the tables were fully booked. So, we all landed at one of Patisserie Valerie’s stores, a stone’s throw away from Marble Arch. They don’t accept reservations, so we got our table after an hour long wait… just for some scones and cream.

Our tower of cakes and sandwiches. The eclairs were my favorite, and to my surprise, the scones were very good. Of course, you have to eat it the right way. I’ve seen tourists who didn’t really know how to slice the scone, and they ended up eating them like gravel…

And you gotta make up your mind: Cornish or Devon way? Doesn’t matter if label them the wrong way. One has jelly on top of the clotted cream, and vice versa. The British are forever in a debate on which is better. So join the conversation; which one do you prefer?

I’ll let you in on my preference: either. Because they all end up in my stomach anyway.
