Ah Smorgasburg. Where do I begin? This Brooklyn Flea market is so legit, you’ll be spending the entire day on queues! Foods range from Home Frites, to the Raindrop cake that’s overtaking NYC. Forget Chelsea Market, because that place is so damn overrated, you don’t want to spend your precious dollars eating a huge lobster. If you want to experience the hodgepodge of NYC cuisine like no other, visit Smorgasburg. Starting from the first weekend of April until November, Smorgasburg runs in three different venues – South Street Seaport, East River State Park and Prospect Park – all amazing places to eat good food, meet the best people and soak under the sun with a breathtaking view.

There are new vendors that come every week to entice your tastebuds, and I’m sure favorites are to each his own. But my personal favorite is MofonGo.

MofonGo

Mofongo is a Puerto Rican dish that’s made of mashed plantain at the bottom and flavorful pork on top. I spent 30 minutes lined up for this delightful dish that’s becoming popular in NYC.

MofonGo at Smorgasburg drizzles this with Sriracha Mayo that is so addicting! And be careful in eating on this bowl. It’s easy for the precious pork to fall out of the bowl!

Check out this spectacular view. You don’t have to ride the NYC Water Taxi, or spend a lot of money on top of the Empire State to capture this view.

I have yet to visit Smorgasburg at Prospect Park which is another amazing place! And I happen to be a stone’s throw away from it.
