CHURRERIA LA LOLA, Power Plant Mall Rockwell

If you’re familiar with Las Flores, Rambla and Barcino, the brains behind these successful Spanish creations are enough to keep you interested with CHURRERIA LA LOLA. Their opening weekend is a huge success, something they didn’t expect from their past experiences.

It isn’t rocket science for one to figure out why people are suddenly clamoring to fall in line at Churreria La Lola. Those who visit Power Plant Mall are often regulars, and many are already tired of the usual food choices at the Lower Ground Floor.

Churreria La Lola’s concept is incredibly simple. Classic Churros con Belgian chocolate, Chocochurros, sandwiches, Xuxos and Horchata fill up La Lola’s menu. It’s perfect just in time for the Yuletide season.

Churros Clasicos

You can choose to have 8pcs (P110), 12pcs (P195) or 18pcs (P275), and adding hot belgian chocolate dip will cost P60 at the minimum. It’s quite pricey, but the quality and crunchiness of the Churro is worth every cent — perhaps, the best Churros offered in the metro. The hot belgian chocolate dip is just so rich and sweet and even though the Churro is already sprinkled with sugar, I find myself dipping the Churro in the hot chocolate for a fulfilling taste. It’s great to share with your family and friends.

Barcelona Sandwich – P275

As someone who loves eating sandwiches, Churreria La Lola’s Barcelona, Mallorquin and Canario sandwiches are a win for me. The Barcelona Sandwich is a great start with Serrano Ham and Gruyere Cheese.

Horchata (P250) in true Spanish cuisine is usually paired with the Churros with its refreshing taste.

For those who want a different twist to their Churros, there’s Xuxos – stuffed Churros that reminds me of Italian Cannoli, except it isn’t flaky in exterior.
