Five Oars Coffee Roasters Reservation / Book a Table
I hope you aren’t tired of my brunch places. But promise, I’m not eating eggs on this one. I’m not a fan of avocado toasts so much, because I ate so much avocado back in San Francisco. Also the trend was so year 2013. Back then, we were all into thick brioche toasts.
So at Five Oars, I chose to get their Mentaiko Mac and Cheese. Strangely enough, Five Oars isn’t well known for their eggs. Their sides take centerstage. You can give their Google Maps reviews a browse and you’ll see people praise them for this hot bowl of mac and cheese. So I urge you to browse their sides and set aside overeasy eggs and benedicts for another day. Creamy, cheesy, it’s what cheese pull dreams are made of. (Check out my TikTok above! No special effects needed.) And while the Mac and Cheese is desperately in need of protein (chicken breasts, maybe), I found myself wolfing it down before the second course arrived.
And of course, the Brussels with Bacon. I love brussel sprouts. They’re packed with nutrients — Vitamin C and fiber — so you can’t go wrong with this power vegetable. I prefer them sautéed in olive oil, but of course, Dough‘s balsamiq infused brussel sprouts also works.
I also love their white, but I do think Homeground makes a better cup. Just saying.
Five Oars has this airy, industrial vibe. Another win. I like a kind of functional or pragmatic aesthetic better than floral ones.
You don’t have to enjoy brunch with eggs. *wink*
