I’m going to call Flippers the best Kiseki pancakes in Singapore, because there’s very few Kiseki pancakes or souffle pancakes in Singapore. Also, they deserve the title given the warm, bouncy, and fluffy pancakes they sell. I wished they opened in a more greener spot, reminiscent of their flagship store in Omotesando, but I guess for now, we’ve got to be contented with their branches at Ngee Ann City and Bugis Junction.

I got the classic Maple Butter Kiseki Pancakes, because I’m such a purist. I like things simple, and all that matcha, chocolate and mangoes are going to hide the real essence of the dish. And true enough, this was one of the best plates of pancakes I had in a while. Surprisingly, while the pancakes were bouncy, they weren’t airy inside. It was a filling afternoon snack, best eaten quickly as its warm. I wished I ordered a second serving of maple butter, because the pancakes quickly absorbed the melted butter. Without it, it was a little dry.

That said, I recommend Flippers for anyone who want something different for a light snack, though the price points can be quite a stretch for thus. Brunch would be most ideal, but then you’d have to ready yourselves with a queue.
