Group Therapy Coffee, Cross Street Exchange, Singapore
Welcome to another episode of never-ending brunches and overpriced eggs.
Don’t get me wrong; I love brunches… done RIGHT. My favorites, Carroll Place and Lafayette Grand Cafe and Bakery. Ok, I’m being unfair. But STILL. You’re paying premium for an egg meal.
I had such high hopes for Group Therapy Coffee. Brunch aficionados hail their brunch selection as the best brunch ever after a spin cycle session. (Btw I don’t exercise; the only thing that would be spinning are the foods in my stomach after a very happy meal.) So, it’s only fitting I drop by Group Therapy Coffee in my athleisure attire. Why not? Everyone’s dressed the same way.
I’m going to cut the long story short, because I hate long ass, sleep-inducing explanations. (Get to the point; life is short. Everyone has short attention span nowadays.)
This is, by far, the worst brunch I ever had. Group Therapy Coffee puts it in the same running as my most hated restaurant, Prive, SPRMRKT and Park Bench Deli, all of which have made me wish there’s a money back guarantee for food.
This sad plate of Hashbrown and Smoked Salmon costs $18, but it doesn’t take a sixth grader to assemble one herself. Hashbrowns for base. Slather with smashed avocado. Layer with half a pack of smoked salmon. Top with two poached eggs. Don’t even need to check if it’s runny, because they don’t care if it becomes a hard boiled egg. Don’t season it too. Top it with fresh arugula and a dollop of avocado lime sauce on the side.
Meanwhile, here’s my homemade avocado toast. Freshest haas avocado atop wheat bread. It tastes the same. And yes, Group Therapy has the same poached eggs on toast dish.

Their coffee was passable. Nothing out of the ordinary. Skip.
If you’re stressed during the week and want therapy, don’t go to Group Therapy. You’ll get scarred for life. Rawr.
