Kondotori Artisan Bakes, Bussorah Street, Singapore

It’s no secret that I love croissants. (And butter. Anything I can slather butter on is my weakness.) And so, Kondotori is high on my list, simply because I can’t get enough of flaky pastries. I was really impressed with The French American Bakery and noted that there is a growing number of talented bakers in SG that operate mom and pop stores. I was expecting the same quality for Kondotori. Both of them are quite alike; long lines all the time.

One thing to note about Kondotori? There aren’t just long queues. They have long lines of pastries as well.

So come by early if you want to try out Kondotori’s best bakes. This Swedish bakery also operates Fika Swedish Cafe, a Swedish restaurant near Haji Lane (if you want something other than IKEA’s meatballs).

I recommend getting their Strawberry Cream Cheese Scone. Check out the thick filling in this scone. Love the texture as well, it wasn’t the dry powdery texture some people dislike about scones.

I love their fruit danish too. And just in case The French American Bakery runs out of their pastries, Kondotori is the perfect alternative.

The croissants were equally good, though not as close to may favorite Petit Pain.

Definitely merits a return trip. Can’t wait to try out the rest!
