Yet another new coffee chain has opened in Singapore: China’s Luckin coffee. They’re quite smart to launch a 99 cents coffee promotion this April and another 50% off your drink… Because wait till you taste their coffee.

It’s one of the worst coffee I have ever drank my entire life.

I got the Yirgacheffe SOE Flat White by ordering on its app. Sure, the wait is a tad bit long (1 hour for me because of the 99 cents promotion), the app’s UX is good, but at the end of the day, it all boils down to the quality. Call it a case of high expectations, but when a flat white is regularly priced at $8, you’ll be thinking along the lines of % Arabica, which sells their latte at the same price point. But this cup doesn’t meet any coffee drinker’s standards at all.

luckin coffee desperately needs coffee. I’d appreciate some crema, some freshness in the beans. After all you have just opened last March 31st, 2023. So don’t give me those coconut latte bullshit. I want to taste your coffee. And it was diluted AF.

Heck, even TAG espresso tasted better than this shit. Even There was no coffee literally had coffee!

If it weren’t priced at 99 cents, I’d be really pissed. Suffice to say, I’m never coming back.

And of course, you’ll wonder when luckin coffee’s luck will run dry. My guess? When all those vouchers have long gone. There’s pretty steep competition in Orchard when it comes to coffee. I’d go for % Arabica, to be honest. (Or my personal favorite, Equate coffee.)

Btw, Alchemist is opening another just opened a new outlet at the Heeren. If I was Luckin coffee, I’d be really, really scared. Eventually, they’ll end up like Flash Coffee.
