Springleaf Prata, Rail Mall, Singapore

Springleaf Prata at the Rail Mall serves bang-for-the-buck Malay and Indian (North and South) dishes, from Dosai, mutton, biryani, and pratas. I rarely eat Malay dishes here in Singapore, not because it’s not good, but because it fills you up quite fast (unless of course, I’m ravenous that day. It’s like eating Filipino food, heavy on the sauce and rice. But I do like a good plate of Ayam Penyet!). Indian dishes, on the other hand — I have to be in the mood to eat Indian curry, though I prefer it over Japanese curry any day. Especially Roti.

At Springleaf Prata, you’ll get a lot of Roti dishes, not just those that you dip with Chicken Curry. There’s this Roti Bomb that’s an explosion of sugar and butter in your tongue. I get hungry just thinking about it. It was so good, our group had to get a second serving.

And then there’s that Paper Roti — crispy and juicy.

Kway Teow Goreng and Nasi Goreng

Chicken Biryani is quite good! And their Murtabak is quite filling too, but I still prefer the Roti.

When you’re dining at Springleaf Prata, come with an empty stomach and then some.
