I’ll keep this short and sweet, because Tangled deserves one word: perfection. Execution-wise, this is one of the best takeaway concepts I’ve seen in a while. Fresh pasta has been making the waves all over Singapore from Pasta Bar to Tipo Pasta Bar and more, but so far Tangled is the only one that makes me want to go back again. And like I’ve always said, if you can increase your customer return rate nowadays, you’ll survive. Tangled is really simple: cheap fresh pastas to-go. (If you can sum up your business in a small pitch, I’d say you win the game.)

They serve a wide variety of fresh pastas from pappardelle, eggless spaghetti, mushroom, squid ink, to beetroot pasta. You can choose from their menu, a selection that will surely make you think twice because they’re all interesting selections. You can also Build Your Own Pasta: choose a pasta, add toppings, choose a sauce and add some protein and you can still be well under $12.

I got the Pesto Besto ($10.90) and it’s one of the best decisions I made in my life. LOL. I wanted to try the beetroot pappardelle, but I’m not a fan of wide pastas so much. The Pesto Besto is so generous — Spinach Fusili loaded with salmon chunks, almonds, garlic, topped with a sous vide egg and tossed with pesto sauce. The result is an umami of flavors. So excited to try out their squid ink pasta next time.

Some drawback: it takes around 10 minutes for them to prepare your order since it’s fresh; also depends on the customers ordering. Also, some tip: best to order on the spot. If you order via their Oddle link for pick up, it’s a dollar more.

FYI: Tangled is not yet halal-certified. No pork, no lard, no alcohol, but their proteins are halal.
