Elixir Boutique Roasters, Singapore
In one of my discovery treks, I chanced upon Elixir Boutique Roasters, a contrast from the sunny disposition of brunch places. The interiors were dark and mysterious, something that pays homage to their name, and something that made me want to give it a try.
Truffle Eggs Prosciutto – $24
Every single table ordered the Truffle Eggs Prosciutto during my visit, so I figured I should probably try it out myself.
The brioche toast was great, and the delicate slices of the prosciutto melded well with it. But not the truffle eggs, which I suspected was about 3-4 small-sized eggs in a single plate. It was way too much, too much cream, too much truffle and too much scrambled goodness, with nothing acidic to cut through the egg. 60% in the plate and I didn’t enjoy it. I’d say this plate is better off for sharing.
Their white, on the other hand, isn’t that bad. A decent, artistic cup.
But I’m not crossing off Elixir from my list yet. I’ve got my eyes on their Brulée French Toast and hopefully it doesn’t tire my tastebuds.
