Tuen Mun Roasts Menu
Shiok Shiok Banawe Menu
I’ve been chomping down Mann Hann’s Lechon Macau for too long. I loved its value for money price points, great serving size, and the crunchiness of its skin. But I’m now tired of its taste.
If you mention Tuen Mun to me, the first thing that comes into my mind is Hong Kong’s 屯門 city (“Garrison Gate”, “Castle Peak”) which resides in northwestern side of New Territories. The town of Tuen Mun boasts of its Cantonese dining scene, which is so famous for their roast duck. Hence, Tuen Mun Roasts is aptly named after this town, following its Cantonese slash Hong Kong style cuisine that we all loved when going to Hong Kong. They also own Eat Fresh Famous Hong Kong which is right beside it on its right, with Tazza Cafe and Genki Car Spa on its left.
Parking space is quite hard to secure at Tuen Mun, so best if you come early. Note that the area can be quite dangerous at night though there are security guards around. Be cautious especially with your car’s side mirrors and your wheel screw caps too.
Local residents of Quezon City always loved the close proximity of Banawe’s lure of popular restaurants without having to go far. Now Quezon City is really becoming quite a foodie heaven! (You can check out my Top 10 Most Popular Restaurants in Quezon City article, if you want to explore more of this city.)
As soon as you step in their humble, hole-in-a-wall facade, Tuen Mun transports you into a Cha Chaan Teng-like ambience, with that smell that is so distinct in Hong Kong.
Roasted Barbecued Pork – P180
How shiok can Tuen Mun’s Roasted Barbecued Pork get? The serving size is enough for 2-3 hungry people. The taste? It’s not as good as Choi Garden, whose Barbecued Pork has a really distinct, manly taste that’s charred, smoky, and sweet on the edges. However, it’s affordable price meets the customer’s expectations.
The meat is tender, and lean, the sweetness of the honey sauce making it alluring and easy to snack on.
Lechon Macau – P180
And for the big guns? Comparing this to Mann Hann’s Lechon Macau, the two restaurants almost have the identical taste of the Lechon Macau. I liked that it’s not too salty. It’s cheaper than Mann Hann. Serving size is good for 2-3 people as well.
Braised Noodles with Roasted Duck – P190
Tuen Mun’s Braised Noodles has Yi Mien 伊麵 Cantonese style noodles, which I was expecting to be thinner, yellowish egg noodles, the way I am used to. The noodles aren’t soggy, and they’re springy with a light taste that’s easy on your tastebuds. It’s a bit reminiscent of the way Singapore does its roast duck braised noodles also.
You can choose your toppings for the braised noodles, which can be Roast Barbecued Pork, Roast Pork or in my case, Roast Duck. The skin is not too crispy, but the meat is flavorful. Nevertheless, at P190, the roast duck is a winner.
I wished there was some Taiwanese Pechay to accompany the braised noodles. I was fully loaded with meat by the end of the meal.

Soy Chicken – P100
Traditional Soy Chicken (P100) and Cold Cuts Plate with Century Egg and Jellyfish and assorted pork (P200) are also available at Tuen Mun Roasts. I could only wish they have more vegetable dishes, but alternatively you may order at Eat Fresh Famous Hong Kong and the staff will get them for you.
The staff is polite; food came out at the right time, and their interiors pleasant and clean. You might find the restaurant cramp, but I prefer small, unpretentious establishments that create dishes that blow your mind and easy on the pocket. Generally I’d recommend Tuen Mun Roasts to anyone looking for a quick bite, and best for those who want to have their car washed at Genki Car Spa and then you can eat while waiting for your car.
