Vermillion – espresso bar & info at Fushimi Inari Taisha, Kyoto

My experience at Vermillion was purely accidental. Although admittedly I had known there was a tiny, beautiful coffee shop beside Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, I didn’t plan on going there to explore coffee. My purpose for traveling to Kyoto was to capture travel videos for my montage, and little did I know I would find this coffee shop after eating takoyaki at the Shrine’s food market.

Vermillion Coffee Kyoto 1

Serendipitious ~ it’s what I called my experience.

Vermillion espresso bar uses specialty coffee beans roasted locally in Kyoto. Its name hails after the unique color of the 10,000 Torii gates populating Mount Inari. Like Kyoto, its character is black and white. Black Coffee or White Latte? Hot or Iced? It’s as simple as that. Matcha Latte offers the “between” of this TripAdvisor winner of excellence site.

The latte (400 yen) was a welcomed familiarity after getting out of my comfort zone, climbing the top of Mount Inari.

Vermillion espresso bar? A must stop when you visit Fushimi Inari Shrine.
