Whenever I am in Singapore, I always make it a point to stop by Hoshino Coffee. This Japanese French fusion restaurant hails from Japan, and they have a store at the famous Takeshita Dori in Harajuku, Tokyo. The menu in Singapore is quite different from the one in Tokyo, so make sure you try this branch! I love their Japanese French selection and at really affordable prices too. I don’t want to keep you from reading what’s good at Hoshino Coffee! So here are my top choices –

Angus Beef with Omurice

This is one of the dishes I always go back to, because the beef is so incredibly tender and the mushroom sauce is just perfect for the omurice. The fluffy omelette is not as fluffy as the ones in Japan, but the tomato rice inside is enough to keep you really interested.

Hoshino Spaghetti

They call this the Hoshino Spaghetti and I can see why. The spaghetti is like an Aglio Olio medley of mushrooms, spinach, sesame, sausages and tomatoes, atop with a nice poached egg. Clearly one of the dishes you shouldn’t miss.

Teriyaki Chicken with Onsen Egg

You can swap the rice for toast, but I don’t know how you’ll manage to drizzle the sweet Teriyaki sauce in your toast. The onsen egg is submerged in really thick Teriyaki sweet sauce that’s an explosion of flavors. I love their Teriyaki chicken – the skin has this crispy burnt texture. On the downside, if you order this dish, it might take some time to cook – an average of 20 minutes.

Angus Beef with Fluffy Omelette and Fluffy Pancakes – Brunch

This menu is for brunch only, before 12:00pm lunch. Again, the angus beef is quite stellar but the Fluffy Pancakes was alright. The Fluffy Omelette is kinda airy but creamy inside. I still prefer the Angus Beef with Omurice.

French Toast

If you have sweet tooth, Hoshino Coffee’s French Toast is loads better than their Fluffy Pancakes (which is odd because this is what they are known for). Loved the whipped cream. So sinful but who cares?

Soft Shell Crab Pasta

Again, another really great dish is their aglio olio pasta with Soft Shell Crab pasta. The saltiness is just right and the soft shell crab is really good. One of those dishes you wouldn’t want to miss!
