Park Avenue Autumn / Winter / Spring /Summer for Restaurant Week NYC
Park Avenue is perhaps the only restaurant in NYC who changes its menu and name based on seasons – Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. My friends and I think that the best time to experience their menu is during NYC Restaurant Week. While we did it over Winter, hence Park Avenue Winter, their menu is far from frigid. It’s one of those meals where you discover your sense of palate and figure out what works or not.
Complimentary Bread and Corn Gnocchi Black Winter Truffles
While the bread normally starts the meal and gets you excited, Park Avenue’s Black Truffles seals the deal for me.
After eating Black Truffles, can’t the burrata get my palate any more creamier? I was on a high with this odd balance of flavors, making me wish I had gone for salad instead. Side salad accompanying the burrata did nothing to wilt this down.
Braised Short Rib
My server said, “Ma’am, you’re going to love it”, as he took down my order of Prix Fixe restaurant week menu. The Braised Short Rib made me a little dizzy although it was really delicious. The meat was so tender and fall off the bone.
Park Avenue Chocolate Cube
It was an extremely heavy dinner for me all the way through dessert. It was good, but I can hardly stomach it down.
Lesson learned. Take things lightly and enjoy. Seal the deal during the NYC Restaurant Week this summer.
