Da Michele Dubai City Walk Menu

It’s amazing how you can find world cuisine in Dubai. I haven’t been to all of the 7 emirates (only a few – Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and dreaming of Ras Al-Khaimah sand dunes sometimes), but everyone’s craving is satisfied one way or another in Dubai.

Take for example, L’antica Pizzeria da Michele. To the uninitiated, this is the same pizza institution with snaking lines in Naples, Sicily. Da Michele is all the more commercialized in Eat, Pray, Love — that very scene when Julia Roberts devours one whole Neapolitan pizza.

Da Michele also serves house bread with balsamiq vinegar and olive oil. It’s my favorite combo.

I didn’t get to do that in Dubai, because the pizza is huge. Napolitana’s soupy center doesn’t disappoint, and of course that’s the hallmark of a good Neapolitan pizza. If it ain’t soupy, it’s NOT authentic. And of course, the proper way of eating this is to fold it in half.

Anchovies, pomodoro, Agerola mozzarella, capers, black olives and pecorino. Your tastebuds are going to burst with so much saltiness — and that’s usually the first taste profile any human can distinguish when eating — but it was worth all the sodium.

We got the Capricciosa as well, but it fell flat against the Napoletana. Less salty, more meaty with it champignon mushrooms, turkey ham, artichokes and pecorino cheese.

While da Michele is well known for pizza, their pasta selection doesn’t disappoint. Pomodoro was perfectly cooked, just the right amount of resistance against your teeth. Not the al dente we know in Rome that’s always mistaken for still raw.

But I recommend getting the Spaghetti Al Pesto Di Basilico E Gamberi. Basil pesto spaghetti is a winner with the crunch of roasted almonds, succulent prawns and the juiciness in confit tomatoes.

After all that carbs, fret not. Dubai City Walk has one of the best vibes for romantic dates, catch up with friends and family. This is one of my favorite places in Dubai.
