Things to Buy at the Harry Potter Store at Broadway, NYC

Dear readers, it is a truth universally acknowledged that I am a certified Harry Potter fan. I’ve been to a lot of Harry Potter places from the Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida, to its theme park in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, all the way to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Leavesden, UK. I’ve even gone as far as working for Warner Bros. 🙂 That’s how much of a fanatic I am. And so, visiting NYC, I made it a point to stop by our Harry Potter New York store at Broadway, which was just behind the iconic Flatiron Sprint building.

I didn’t want to pass the opportunity to use my employee discount!

And so I was ready, armed with my credit card to come home with tons of Harry Potter merchandise.

Fawkes greets you when you enter. Also, it’s great that I didn’t have to get a number. It used to have a queueing system back during its first few months of opening, but I suppose the crowds have calmed down. That’s the best time to visit the Harry Potter store at Broadway, NYC.

As usual, you’ll find merchandise for each of the houses. My favorite, as usual, is the House of Slytherin. Love all things green!

What’s unique to the Broadway store is Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem. Pretty cool, ain’t it? You can buy the diadem, for sure.

I like that the store has a life size statue of Fawkes, the replica at Dumbledore’s office.

Ironic that the staircase leads to darker merchandise — Death Eater shirts! And the Basilisk, which you can touch and have a photo op. I liked that very much. Love that they also sell Bellatrix Lestrange’s wanted poster. That’s a different merch aside from the usual Sirius Black newspaper photo op.

You can also join groups and fight death eaters. The staff will reward you with some swag if you do beat them! But of course, you have to do it as a group.

Downstairs, you’ll also find Harry Potter collections with limited edition artwork. I suppose some of it was drawn by Mary Grandpré.

And a huge Time Turner. I thought it was one of the coolest things to see at the Harry Potter Broadway store.

Also liked that there’s a portion of the store with a Marauder’s Map design on the floor.

If you have the time, the Wizards Take Flight is a great VR experience to try. It is a little pricey, and you can order tickets online as well.

Finally, once you’re done shopping, you can always grab a glass of butterbeer, fresh from the barrels. You can get an alcoholic one as well.

Overall, I didn’t find much that I can add to my Harry Potter collection, except the t-shirts were really awesome. So I got this limited edition shirt, which you can only buy exclusively at the Broadway store.

For Harry Potter fans, the Harry Potter store at Broadway NYC is worth the trip, especially if you want to grab some gifts for your family and friends. On the other hand, for non-fans, it’s ok to skip especially when there’s so much more to do in NYC.
