When in Switzerland, you cannot NOT go to the Lindt Home of Chocolate. Sure, you might want to go to the Lindt Cafe all the way to the Top of Europe in Jungfraujoch, but visiting the museum where you get unlimited and free* chocolates is a whole different story. I say that with an asterisk, because a) you need to pay the admission fee and b) you really have to strategize and take as much chocolates as you can without the lady behind the counter looking. They’ve gotten a bit more strict these past few years because of the amount of TikTok attention the museum is having.
I enjoyed learning about the growth of cacao beans and seeing the very first milk chocolate can invented by Nestle. Even enjoyed it all the more when you can eat unlimited chocolate syrups in these huge pillars, from milk chocolate to dark chocolate. And while Belgium remains to be my #1 choice when it comes to the silkiest chocolate (I’m looking at you, Maison Dandoy), Lindt Home of Chocolate lives up to the expectations of the best chocolate experience. But, but, but, I would recommend you save some sweet tooth for the cafe. The Fior de latte and chocolate ice cream is so smooth and not too icky sweet. I’m not an ice cream person so much appreciated.
You can also grab hot chocolate with mallows and a chocolate bar plus another chocolate on the side — rich, thick and decadent. Even after eating so much chocolate in the tour, I still want to drink this mug.
And the croque monsieur sandwich is surprisingly good for a cafe that specializes in chocolate. The cappuccino doesn’t disappoint either. I’d say it’s worth to visit one of the best hot chocolate cafes in the world.
