So, when it comes to Toronto’s best market, it’s St. Lawrence Market, no contest. But with Vancouver in BC, I have to say Lonsdale Quay and Granville Island are tied for me.

You’re going to need to take a ferry from Waterfront to reach Lonsdale Quay at North Vancouver.

For one, the seaside views are just spectacular at Lonsdale Quay. I can probably walk the boardwalk all day long and just watch the crowds, see the sails, gaze at the horizon.

But of course, while the tomato soup at Granville Island was the best thing we ate there, Lonsdale Quay has its own must-try dishes. Fish and chips. That’s one. Montgomery’s Fish and Chips sells great for value fish and chips.

Don’t forget to order some poutine! It’s a staple.

Or some nachos. Cilantro and JalapeƱo serves awesome nachos with everything on it, you’re going to want a second order.

If you get so stuffed, you can walk around the second floor and burn it all down. There’s some interesting shops, particularly Saje, a homegrown Canadian brand.
