It’s serendipitous that I live close Four and Twenty Blackbirds. They’re arguably the best makers of pie in Brooklyn, quite particularly, the Apple pie. But their menu changes very often depending on the seasonality of fruits. This fall, I was able to try out their Stonefruit Crumble pie. The Stonefruit Crumble pie tastes a bit like prune, but it wasn’t the fruits that stood out from it. In order for a pie to taste good, the crust has to compliment the flavor of the pie. Here, the crust was phenomenal. I’m seriously not into pies, but Four and Twenty Blackbirds is the ultimate exception.
