In my latest trip to NYC, I found a new brunch favorite: Lafayette Grand Cafe and Bakery. I’ve heard of rumors that this was Taylor Swift’s favorite brunch spot. Not that I was expecting to see Taylor Swift dining on a Saturday; that would be just ridiculous. But I was curious of their French-infused brunch plates.
The most popular dish was the Smoked Salmon Benedict with Everything Brioche. This isn’t your usual eggs benny. Not because it’s deconstructed, but because of the brioche toast. It’s coated in Everything seasoning, buttered and toasted. The result is the best of both worlds: the taste of everything bagel and brioche like french toast.
Cappuccino was fair, not the best but fair. I would love to try more of their dishes, but my time was limited. That said, I would return for this brunch spot and highly recommend anyone to try it out.
