In all my eating around Singapore, I realized I never blogged about Nesuto along Tras Street. Coming in close second for my favorite dessert spot in Singapore after Baristart, Nesuto’s pastries are not to be ignored. So a favorite patisserie along a favorite street merits some writing.
And it just so happens Nesuto is opening a dessert cafe at Jewel Changi Airport. You’ll probably need 6 hours before your flight if you want to leisurely eat your way into Nesuto.
I had to dig my photos for this lovely Poire — a layered vanilla light mousse and pear compote delicately created with Amaretto Namelaka sitting under a bed of chocolate sponge and chocolate sablee. When placed alongside crowd favorites Yuzu and Hojicha slices and the attractive Queen Ispahan, it’s easy to ignore Poire in its cool green colors. But I recommend you to take some risk and try something new. Poire reminds me a little of Cedric Grolet’s aura, though a far cry from the best pastry in the world.
The prices at Nesuto are steep, and this ain’t your everyday dessert. But since you’re along Tras Street, you deserve the best, and take it a notch higher with Nesuto.
