If you’re coming home from Paris and thinking of what to take with you on the flight, try not to put all of your efforts on Pierre Herme’s macarons. Le Comptoir du Ritz’s madeleines deserve some love. <3
Francois Perret’s heart-shaped madeleines are the stuff that dessert dreams are made of.
A box of 5 is a splurge at 21 euros, with a 2.50 euros top up for each special flavored madeleine. But it’s probably the best madeleine I’ve tried in a while. The insides are moist, filled with fruit jam depending on the flavors you picked. I love the citron vert and caramel flavor, the latter a mix of salty and sweet disposition. Framboise (raspberry) is equally noteworthy while the brave may opt for the Lavender and Passion fruit flavors for the summer.
I try not to finish one whole box in a sitting. Or my wallet’s going to cry.
