WTF Stands for Wine, Tapas and Fun #WTFHongKong

How we discovered WTF was due to the lack of planning. We didn’t have any reservations for dinner. When in SoHo, Central, you can’t literally walk in a restaurant that serves good food without a reservation. Ronin was out and we were left with Ho Lee Fook with a terrible 2 hour waiting time.

But there’s no stopping us from dining at Ho Lee Fook; that’s how persistent and determined our group was. Our eyes strayed towards WTF beside Ho Lee Fook. I don’t know if it’s a matter of coincidence for WTF and Holy Fuck to be beside each other ~ but that was certainly funny. Tapas and Sangria screamed at us, a handful of customers inhabiting the Spanish Tapas bar. This is where we’ll spend our 2 hour waiting time, the longest appetizer we ever had to endure before the main course.

Croquetas Jamon

WTF Hong Kong

Crunchy croquetas, filled with mozzarella. Yum.

Jamon

WTF Hong Kong

We got two orders of Jamon to pair with Sangria.

Chorizo

WTF Hong Kong

I’m not a fan of sausages, so I can’t comment if the chorizo was good.

Sangria (and lots and lots of Sangria)

We ended up drinking two pitchers of Sangria and mind you, the blend was stronger on the wine side. Croquetas, Jamon and Chorizo were passable. One can’t drink Sangria without munching on something.

WTF isn’t exactly cheap. Prices were steep and it wouldn’t be in my recommended list should you experience the same predicament we did but I liked their Sangria.

It was 11:00am when we finally got our table at Ho Lee Fook. We’re not the most sober crowd entering Ho Lee Fook, clearly floating as we tread towards one of the most celebrated restaurants in Hong Kong today. (We woke up from our mid-slumber shortly after being served with their awesome, holy fucking amazing Wagyu Beef Shortribs.)

Lesson learned: Make a reservation at restaurants in SoHo, Central.
