Raclette NYC
It’s that cheeseporn phenomenon that swept the world. People from the other side of the globe can just drool over that lovely, authentic cheese melting on top of your plate. As for me, NYC never fails to disappoint with its viral creations. I am, indeed, in the center of the world.
Suisse, Jambon de Paris – $18.00
I chose the Suisse plate. This rock melted alpine cheese is scraped table side for you to enjoy. This is one show you’d like to relive over and over again.
On my plate, I have roasted baby potatoes that are creamy and buttery, Jambon de Paris, Pickled White Pearl Onions and Cornichons. Salad offers that acidity and balance you can have in between to cut the routine. While I could have appreciated more than a slice of baguette, the raclette cheese is addicting. I couldn’t decide between the melted raclette cheese or the rusty edges that are scraped four pleasure too. I love the pickled white pearl onions as it is unlike I’ve ever had before. Cornichons creates another dimension to the plate. It’s crunchy, a little sour and nutty.
The Suisse Raclette plate is incredibly poetic. It’s an ode to a Broadway show for the cheese-deprived.
Yes, yes and yes – they offer a second scraping for your Savoyarde, Suisse or Mediterranee raclette plate, so you can relive it over and over again. I did get another scraping because it was that good. (I wouldn’t recommend having the raclette to-go. It’s best to eat on the spot.)
