Serendipity NYC
It’s 49 degrees outside. And we want to have something cozy. Then there’s the story of Jonathan and the Gloves. So we have to return to the scene of the crime – Serendipity. As the original in NYC, you have to try something legit. The Serendipity 3 in Las Vegas was awful, yet only the Frozen Hot Chocolate stood exemplary among the dishes we tried. The environment is bent on being a diner for families traveling with kids looking for a safe haven to quiet down the riot inside a mini-van.
Serendipity NYC doesn’t veer far from the horrible reviews on Yelp. Serendipity 3 remains a place where you can just have dessert, and that is no other than their Frozen Hot Chocolate.
While it is for sharing, I got it all to myself. The taste is standard whether you are in Vegas or NYC.
But while the food is just awful, the ambience at Serendipity NYC is boho-chic and opulent. The eccentricities of the design of the space make it ideal for first romantic dinners, less of family reunions and ultimately, the gathering makes you ponder upon fatum.
At 225 East 60 Street, how do you make your experience worthwhile? Should you take some hot chocolate packs back to your shoebox apartment? Or do you want to take things to the next level and stand out, mesmerized with the city’s appeal?
I took things the latter. There’s so much more in the city that never sleeps.
