My unwavering loyalty for Petit Pain has come to a pause. Because, Alice Boulangerie, the most talked about brunch spot in the metro as of late. While their duo flavored croissants are a surefire way to turn me off, they’ve managed to convert me successfully. They do remind me of Lafayette’s OG Creme Supreme and Swish Rolls attempt in executing viral croissants — subtle and less hypable, yet noteworthy.

The pistachio and chocolate croissant is crispy, flaky and the insides at the right amount of sweetness I like. Less Mr. Holmes Bakehouse.

The flamboyance of their strawberry Cheesecake croissants didn’t make me interested. I can imagine the insides are cheesy and sour, and that’s something for another day when my tastebuds are feeling so.

Of course you don’t eat croissants without coffee. The Kopimisu is a cool latte for another hot afternoon affair, again an homage to the thick creamy lattes that’s spreading across the island. A portmanteau of tiramisu and kopi, obviously, the drink is less coffee and more milo-y.

It is perfect for those looking for a drink and dessert at the same time. Cream curdles at the bottom after a while, so I’m not keen on returning as much as I want for abseil and surprise, surprise, Miracle Coffee’s Kaya Cloud.

Alice Boulangerie serves an all day brunch affair, but the menu didn’t make me the slightest interested other than their line up of croissants and bakes. But the first impression leaves more room for another croissant run.

Finally, finally, another best croissant in Singapore.
